When it comes to commissioning, there is so much that needs to be decided, arranged and thought of that it can all appear a bit daunting at first.
However: when following a couple of basic guidelines, setting up commissions really is not as hard as you think!

First things first
So you have decided you want to start doing commissions. That's great!
The first thing to do is to determine what you want to offer.
Do you want to offer drawings, or designs?
Will you be coding journal-skins for people, or
I really want to evolve and improve on my art, but I need help.
I have asked a handful of amazing artists on dA, but have received no replies from any of them. I understand that they're all busy and are probably bombarded with the same notes all the time. And I am not here to complain either.
With that being said, I would just like to know if there are any active art studio sites out there that have the following:
- open student application
- active and dedicated teachers
- active site
lessons for the following, but not limited to:
- manipulation
- painting/drawing with use of the tablet
- in-depth smudging/painting/etc
- background
